Vilnius offset printing house Petro Ofsetas was founded in 1994 by Petras Kalibatas as a small company offering copying and publishing services. On their website, they state that

Petras Kalibatas was an individual who cherished culture yet possessed a rebellious spirit, a spirit that imbued the printing house he founded. With an artistic flair and a rebellious streak, we have embarked on ambitious projects that have earned us numerous awards for our exemplary printing and binding quality.

For your one-day assignment, you will create a minimum of 10 different reproductions of the image of Petras Kalibatas, exploring the limits of image reproduction and offset printing. Consider your experiments through an systematic gradation of image resolution. You will each be assigned one ink restriction:

Black
Registration Black
Monotone (C,M,Y)
Duotone
Tritone
CMYK

You are encouraged to explore as many different reproduction techniques and be as creative as possible. Consider:

Threshold
Halftone
Posterize
Raster
Am Screen
FM Screen
Spot Color
Manual techniques
Other

At the end of the day, we will select and curate 8 final images for our signature.
